Tarte Tatin!

My mom has numerous cooking and baking specialties. Tarte Tatin has become one of them.
Fresh from the Oven

The Stages of Flipping

Perfect Flip!

Plated with Fresh Whipped Cream
The crust was delicious crisp and crumbly. The Fiji apples still had a nice bite and a good sweetness. Such a great dessert!

Steak!

A few months ago I wrote about Greg Norman steaks. It's so delicious and buttery that we had to have it again.
The Steaks
Nicely Charred.

Kyoya Onion Sauce

Bean Sprouts, Snap Peas, Broccoli, and Onions

Kamameshi Rice with Mushrooms

Cut
Perfectly cooked medium. Mmm!

Plated

The Wine Pairing
Cabernet Merlot, Greg Norman, 2006. A delicious wine full of berries and spice notes.

Two Course Dinner In

First Course
Saffron Risotto

Second Course
Sinigang ng Bangus. Milk Fish Soup with long beans and tomatoes. My favorite part of bangus is the belly. Mmm.

Using Bananas

Frozen Banana Pudding
My mom made a couple variations of banana pudding a few months ago. To preserve what we could not finish, we froze the rest. It turned out to be a nice refreshing dessert.

Banana Muffins
Instead of making a loaf-shaped, my mom tried using the cupcake pans. The result was great. I love the crusty edges and with this size there's more of that. The chunks of bananas were tasty, and overall it was nice and moist.

Pho on the Strip

Pho at Treasure Island, Las Vegas
This place is marketed as the only pho place on the strip. It could also be the cleanest in Vegas, except for the smoke and casino smells that surround the restaurant.
The Menu

The Inside

Sauces
Hoisin Sauce and Sriracha. This enhances the flavor of pho.

Garnish
Fresh bean sprouts, basil, jalapenos, and limes. All for additional fresh flavors and textures.

Beef Pho
Strips of Brisket. This was tasty, but because of the beef strips I was looking for tripe and tendon as well.
