I spent the weekend in LA for my sister-in-law's bachelorette party. I didn't go all out because of the wedding that's coming up. Naturally, I want to look my best in the pictures. Here are a few of the things I enjoyed:
An LA landmark -- Roscoe's Chicken n' Waffles
This is the second time I've been here and it was just as good. I tried something different this time - 3 wings and greens. The greens were cooked in chicken broth, which gave it a nice taste. And the wings were perfectly fried. Ooh wee, tasty!
Curry Chicken Salad
We ate at the Urth Cafe on Melrose. Growing up I loved getting the curry chicken salad at Trader Joe's. I haven't seen it in years. When I saw this selection, I looked no further. This is the half portion. Creamy and delicious!
Bread
Since it was a to-be-seen spot in LA, the servers asked if you wanted the bread (carbs!) or not. I'm a Bay Area foodie, of course I want the bread!
Seared Ahi Tuna
We ate at Magnolia on Sunset Blvd. The mashes potatoes were creamy to the point that they were silky. The ahi tuna was good, but it wasn't spectacular.
Dole Whip Float
A must get at Disneyland. It's on the way to the Indiana Jones ride. If I could swim in this, I would.

GNO - Girls' Night Out
Alexander's Steakhouse
My girls and I went to this fine dining restaurant before my chef friend left the establishment (and is now at the new Rosewood resort. I'll hopefully blog about that place soon after I find the time to visit it.)
Entrance
The entrance features to aged meats and the high end cuts. Many are Wagyu selections from Japan.
The menu!
Complimentary Rose Champagne and a glass of a Red Bordeaux
Scallop appetizer
Made special from my chef friend. So generous! So tasty! The watermelon bits provided a nice texture with the scallops.
Hamachi Shots
Fresh hamachi and ponzu sauce. They recommend you take it exactly like a shot.
Palate Cleanser
Mandarin orange and ginger gelee
Melange a Trois
Beef 3 ways. 1) Kobe beef panini-pressed patty melt. 2) Braised Short Ribs. 3) Filet Steak with blue cheese crumbles.
And, a splurge with seared foie gras on top.
Filet Mignon
Bone In Aged New York
Mashed Potatoes
Mac N' Cheese
Beets and Greens
Creamed Spinach
Birthday treat for the "Birthday Girl"
Green Apple Cotton Candy!
Overall, a delicious and satisfying meal. Get ready for a splurge!
On a side note, the waiter/sommelier generously gave me a taste of the Louis XIII Remy Martin. The most delicious thing I've ever tasted!

Tapas
Cascal's
Tapas restaurant in downtown Mountain View. With their outdoor seating, this is one of the best places to go on a beautiful day.
White Sangria
Light and refreshing. A nice summer alternative to the tradition red wine sangria.
Mushroom Empanadas
Generous mushroom filling inside of a well-baked pastry. Highly recommended.
Fried Calamaris with a Paprika Aioli Sauce
Nicely fried. It makes for a great plate to share with the table.
Tapas Sampler
If your table is hungry, this is the choice to get.
